Rome & Le Marche - 9 Day Tour

DAY 1

Arrive at Rome airport and transfer to your hotel in the heart of historic Rome.
Check-in at the accommodations, relax and settle in.
 

Activity: In the evening you’ll enjoy a guided twilight stroll through Rome’s most unforgettable sites, basking in the glory of the Trevi fountain, the Spanish Steps, and some of Rome’s most beautiful piazzas.
 
Duration: Approx 2 hours

Finish your Dolce Vita Stroll at one of Rome’s finest wine bar restaurants for an amazing and exclusive wine tasting dinner featuring:

- Tasting of 8 different wines 

- Tasting of 10 different cheeses and cured meats

- A plate of pasta

- A small dessert

DAY 2

Morning
 
Free morning in Rome and lunch on your own.
 
Check out of your accommodations and travel via private van to the beautiful Marche countryside.
 
Check in at the accommodations, relax and settle in.
 
Welcome to Le Marche private catered dinner at your villa with wines from Le Marche.
 

DAY 3

Morning
 
Enjoy free time to relax at the villa and settle into the pace of life in the quiet Marche countryside, enjoying the private pool and garden. Help yourself to breakfast (supplies for self-catered breakfast stocked at the villa).
 
10:00am – Meet your Chef at the villa and enjoy a hands on Pasta making lesson. Your Chef will teach you to prepare various kinds of fresh pasta including orecchiette, cavatelli and strozzapreti. You’ll learn to roll out pasta by hand as well as using a pasta machine and all the tools necessary for making great tagliatelle, pappardelle and chitarrine, not to mention stuffed pastas like ravioli, tortellini, agnolotti and cappellacci! Each pasta will be accompanied by a different sauce and after you’re class you’ll taste it all with a casual buffet lunch featuring the pastas you prepared in your class.
 
Afternoon
 
Activity: Travel to the historic city of Macerata. Enjoy a 2 hour private guided tour of the hidden treasures of the city.
Move on to Macerata’s finest enoteca for an aperitivo including a guided tasting of 3 organic wines and a tasting of exceptional local food products.
 
You’ll then move on to dinner at one of the area’s great restaurants.
 

DAY 4

Morning
 
Activity: Travel with your sommelier and chauffeur to one of Le Marche’s most famous wine regions. You’ll have the unique opportunity to tour a wonderful family run organic winery, visit the vineyards and cellar followed by a tasting of estate wines.
 
Delicious lunch of regional cuisine paired to local wines.
 
After lunch travel to another wonderful winery to enjoy a guided tour and tasting of estate wines.
 
Return to villa and free evening (snacks will be available in the villa kitchen to help yourself).
 

DAY 5

Morning
 
Activity: Guided tour of Loreto and one of Italy’s most important Cathedrals, site of the house of the Virgin Mary and the Black Madonna of Loreto. 

Travel on to the lovely Conero seaside where you’ll enjoy a delicious seafood dinner at a beach front restaurant.
 
In the afternoon optional beach time or stops to visit the charming villages of Sirolo and Numana with free time for shopping or a Gelato.
 
In the evening return to your villa and free evening.

DAY 6

Morning
 
Enjoy a free morning to relax and enjoy your villa, pool and garden.
 
Travel to the famous outlet shops of Le Marche and free time for shopping (option of staying home to enjoy a full day of R&R at your luxury villa). Return to the villa at your leisure.
 
Evening
 
That evening transfer to a wonderful local restaurant for a gourmet dinner with more lovely local wines.

DAY 7

Morning
 
Visit 2 wonderful and unique organic farms of Le Marche where you’ll learn about local food products and enjoy private tastings of farm products.
 
Lunch at a charming local restaurant.
 
Evening/ Activity:
 
Return to the villa and meet your Chef for a fun and interactive pizza making lesson. After your lesson enjoy a farewell to Le Marche dinner of all the pizzas you’ve prepared with various toppings.

DAY 8

Morning
 
Guided tour of the Roman archeological site of Urbis Salvia, a Roman colony dating to the 2nd century BC. Move on to the beautiful abbey of Fiastra and enjoy a guided tour of the church with an optional walk along the ancient forest path.
 
Lunch at a wonderful organic farm to table restaurant.
 
Evening/ Activity:
 
Return to the villa and free time before enjoying a farewell to Marche dinner catered at the villa and paired to more lovely Italian wines.

DAY 9

Morning
 
Check out of accommodations and travel via private van to Rome.
 
Activity: Stop en-route at the breathtaking village of Spello in Umbria. Enjoy a stroll through the narrow medieval streets before stopping at a wonderful olive oil shop where you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of some of the country’s best extra virgin olive oils paired to a light lunch of local specialties.
 
Afternoon/Evening
 
Check into accommodations in Rome and farewell to your Jo-In Tour Manager and driver.
